As a photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing many different types of boudoir sessions. But one that stands out to me is the luxurious medusa inspired boudoir session that I did with a client who had recently undergone a big weight loss journey.

When the client first approached me about the session, she was understandably nervous. She had lost a significant amount of weight and was struggling to learn to love her new body. She wanted to do something special for herself, something that would help her see herself in a new light and celebrate her newfound confidence.

The medusa theme was perfect for this client. In Greek mythology, medusa was a powerful and confident woman who was feared by many. She was known for her snakes for hair, which symbolized her strength and resilience. We wanted to capture that same sense of power and confidence in the photos.

The shoot itself was truly luxurious in the private studio. The client wore many pieces of lingerie but the royal blue set was just stunning, and with subtle snake-inspired accessories to tie in with the medusa theme without becoming a costume. I used dramatic lighting to create a moody and sensual atmosphere, which really brought out the client’s natural beauty.

Throughout the shoot, I could see the client’s confidence growing. She started off a little nervous and self-conscious, but as we progressed, she really embraced the medusa persona. She posed confidently, with a sense of power and strength that was truly inspiring. By the end of the session, she was glowing with confidence and joy.

After the shoot, the client told me that it was one of the best experiences of her life. She said that she had never felt so beautiful and empowered and that the session had helped her see herself in a new light. She also said that she would treasure the photos forever, as a reminder of how far she had come and how amazing she truly is.
